Sleep disturbances are common in people with MS, with studies showing high rates of insomnia, sleep apnea, restless legs syndrome, and daytime fatigue. These issues are often linked to MS symptoms like pain, spasticity, anxiety, bladder problems, and even possible damage to areas of the brain that control sleep. Research also suggests that sleep disorders may not only worsen MS symptoms but could contribute to disease progression, particularly cognitive and mobility decline. As a result, growing attention is being given to identifying and treating sleep issues as a key part of MS care.
