Marathon Running for MS Support
This fall, Wende Carver’s daughter, Heather, will be running the Philadelphia Marathon in honor of her mom and to raise funds for the MS Support Foundation. Below is the message she shared:
This fall, I’m running the Philadelphia Marathon to celebrate my mom’s 70th birthday, and to raise money for a cause that’s deeply personal and important to our family, especially my mom.
My mother, Wende Carver, was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1994. In the face of every challenge since, she’s responded with strength, resilience, and relentless determination. She’s an inspiration, someone who leads by example in what it truly means to be selfless and to care for others.
She’s been involved with the local MS Support Foundation in Western Massachusetts since its earliest days, and today, she serves as its Board President. Through her leadership, the foundation has helped countless individuals living with MS by providing transportation, home care support, and other critical resources to improve quality of life.
To mark this milestone birthday, I’m lacing up for 26.2 miles in her honor and raising money for the foundation along the way.

Every bit helps and every step I take in Philly will be for my mom.
